Hillary

My day job is working for a babysitting agency here in Columbia and that was how I met Hillary. She is sincerely one of the sweetest and most polite children I have ever met, and when she laughs no one can resist laughing with her. And how cute is the third ponytail on top of Hillary's head, she's trying to grow out her bangs. I have never met a kid who sucked on their fingers, aside from their thumbs (fellow thumb sucker right here!). But Hillary sucks on two. It's soooo cute and I'm glad I got a couple of shots of her doing it. You may notice that she's only wearing one shoe in some of these photos, but that's not for lack of trying on her mother's part...some might say stubborn, I say spirited! So here is the adorable Hillary in all her glory!

Hillary would NOT leave the sandbox, very busy building her wall.
And would you believe the light, love it!!!

Say Cheese...

So her dad cut apart some pieces of their porch railing and installed a slide. How genius is that!!!
There was even talk of having a kiddie pool at the bottom, but I haven't seen it yet.

My favorite!!!

I love this shot! She's not mad, just playing. Like a little Godzilla in pink!

Hillary gave me tons of different facial expressions without ever realizing it. Perfect!

The end of the shoot and Hillary's tired. I love how her pig tails are droopy, it reminds me of a puppy dog look, especially in accordance with her expression. Priceless!

Wow, you did such an amazing job. I think the first one is my favorite. The way you had the light go through her hair is just beautiful!

Great captures! I mean you have her all sweet and innocent and then BAM she's give you these growling sneers. I love it!

I like the images but even more so the technique (is that bad????). I mean you offered such bright colors and smooth transitions with great depth to each photo. Beautiful work. And I think the black and white close up deserves to be in a magazine!

You really knocked this one out of the ballpark (had to use a sport analogy). Great stuff!

I'm a fellow thumb sucker too! Love your work. And I totally agree about the puppy dog look, that's exactly what I thought when I saw it. Beautiful photographs.

I love the slide idea. I might just have to talk Tim into doing this, and definitely adding a pool at the bottom. Awesome photos!

Again, you are CRAZY TALENTED! Such beautiful images. And I'm sure you probably made some comment or other or a weird noise to get her to look at you like that, I can just imagine it.

I am in love with your close up black and white. One of my all time favorite images now! And...I can so see your reflection in her eyes!

Is there such a thing as an 'artist's remorse'...kinda similar to buyer's remorse??? Because you don't have the confidence when you talk about what you do but your work represents such beautiful credence! You really are talented and that is shown through all of these gorgeous photographs!

"An artist never really finishes his work, he merely abandons it." --Paul Valery

I know all of these successful artists and I guess I just have to have others approval to validate my work. There's always something else that could've been done or tweeked this way or that. There are literally thousands of way to edit a photograph and I'm never convinced my way was the right way. So you could call it artist's remorse, that kinda makes sense. So thank you Connor and everyone else who leaves such beautiful comments. I truly appreciate it!

B-E-A-UTIFUL photographs, truely. The colors are so vibrant and the black and whites really pop. Two thumbs up, or in this case two thumbs to suck on!
